Wal-Mart just announced plans to start selling vehicles at stores near you. A move that could have local car delears wishing they could have a piece of the pie. Per an Ad Age article published on 1-23-17 Ad Age talks about the super retailers' dip into the car buying experience.
Sean Wolfington, CarSaver's CEO tells Ad Age that CarSaver will have both an online presence, and Kiosks in store. Plans are set to launch this new car buying option in April of this year. There will be 25 locations set to launch this program in Dallas, Houston as well as Phoenix, and Oklahoma City.
Wal-Mart has 3500 stores nationwide, and 90% of Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart location. I'm sure if the test cities go well you will see Wal-Mart Stores in Palestine, and Bay City offering this service.
TLC wants to hear from you. Do you think this will be a successful for Wal-Mart? Would you buy your next vehicle from Wal-Mart, or continue to support your local car dealer?
